Hey all,
Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll give some a try, it's just for aligning data cubes.
But my email had another positive effect: We are collecting algorithms for astropy. So even though, I think the mentioned things are good enough for me, you should keep posting things so we can use this thread as future reference for centroiding.
