As I mentioned elsewhere, it would be great if this wisdom could be
distilled, once you have something that works reliably, in the
cookbook.  I reopened account creation (though the message still says
they're closed, to confuse the enemy:)  so you can contribute without
any hurdles for everyone's benefit.
