[IPython-user] ipython in emacs

To use ipython as my python shell in emacs, I'm following this
setup:

However, when I invoke M-x python-shell, the standard
python interpreter launches rather than ipython.  I've
put the latest ipython.el in $HOME/elisp.  Any advice on
how to get ipython working in emacs would be appreciated.

Environment:
   IPython 0.10
   Python 2.6.4
   Gnu Emacs 23.1.1
   Ubuntu Karmic 9.10
