[IPython-User] running currently queued commands on an ipython engine

Is it possible to have an ipython engine run it's currently queued commands
while running a function. I would like to be able to read/write/configure a
simulation that is running as an infinite loop on an engine with a
"running" flag that I could set to false via the normal ipython directview
interface to stop it.
