Hi,

today i tried a quick test-install of Ipython 1.0.0 on CentOS 6.4 with
the Python 2.6.6, which comes with CentOS 6.4.

When i start the notebook, a TypeError occurs:

$ ipython notebook
Traceback (most recent call last):
   File "/usr/lib64/python2.6/logging/__init__.py", line 776, in emit
     msg = self.format(record)
   File "/usr/lib64/python2.6/logging/__init__.py", line 654, in format
     return fmt.format(record)
   File
"/usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/IPython/config/application.py", line
119, in format
     return super(LevelFormatter, self).format(record)
TypeError: super() argument 1 must be type, not classobj

LevelFormatter is derived from logging.Formatter, which is an old-style
class in Python 2.6, so that super() will raise this TypeError. On
Python 2.7 logging.Formatter ist new-style and everything is fine.

The notebook-server is working fine nevertheless...

For the sake of completeness, here is the result of iptest:

BTW, what is the recommended zmq-version (2.x or 3.x) for Ipython 1.0.0?
