[IPython-User] %%file statement

%%file is not a python statement,
It is an IPython cell magic.
In notebook (usually) it takes the rest of current cell and write it on file. 

It has been renamed to %%writefile recently.

Use 
In[1]: %%file?
In an IPython shell to get a description.
