In [1]: import numpy as np
In [2]: def fn():
    ...:     x = np.random.rand(5,2)
    ...:     x.cumsum(None,out=x)
    ...:     return x
    ...:
In [3]: fn()
Out[3]:

Max OSX, Python 2.5, numpy 1.0.4.
