[Numpy-discussion] dtype

Hi,

Where can I find a complete and exhaustive description of the dtype 
syntax and arguments. For example, something like

a = arange(4, dtype='=H')

seems hard to extract from the documentation that I can find on the web 
and the numpy docstrings.
