 The issue is one of documentation. There is no particular need to remove
 add_headers, IMO. numpy has decided not to use it and I don't recommend
 using it, but it is functionality provided by distutils. If the
 Configuration class didn't already have it, I wouldn't bother to add it,
 but since it's already there, I don't see a real reason to remove it.

 The recommendations about the method's are already in DistutilsDoc where
 you might expect them. This ticket is really about answering the
 frequently-asked question "Why does numpy install its headers inside the
 numpy package instead of in $PREFIX/include/python2.5?
