 As a convenience, a git branch is here:

     http://github.com/pv/numpy-work/tree/1.5.x

 The patch needs a bit of work:

   - the fixes that should go the trunk should be split out

 I can probably take a look later on. Also, I'd like to manually check the
 diffs to svn/1.4.x, at least for the data structures.
