 My apologies - upon further digging, it seems that, as large as my large
 data set is, was truncated and incomplete.  My python program was
 expecting more data (via settings in the header) than was actually
 available on disk.  Sorry for taking folks' time here.  I very much
 appreciate the time you took to look at this and respond.
