[SciPy-dev] IPython update

Hi all,

small update. If you are using IPython 0.2.6 (the one I released
yesterday) with python 2.1, some features won't work. Sorry, it was a nested
scoping problem. Either upgrade to 0.2.7 or simply add

from __future__ import nested_scopes

at the top of the file Magic.py in the IPython/ directory. You can do it in
the already installed system, in /usr/lib/python2.1/site-packages/IPython or
in the directory where you unpacked: IPython-0.2.6/IPython. In the latter
case, rerun the installation so the updated file goes to your main python
directory.

This problem does NOT affect users of Python2.2 (which has nested scopes by
default).

Note to Emacs users (Travis): use 'M-x term' instead of 'M-x shell' to open a
terminal process in which to run IPython. Emacs 'eterm' buffers are much more
functional than Emacs 'shell' buffers (file pagers work, for example).

Many thanks to Prabhu for both finding the bug and the emacs tip.

Cheers,

f.
