Hi,

some concerns regarding the discussion of the umbrella mode
vs. separability of individual modules:

To my mind there is a big "problem" with using scipy currently: It's
in too much flux. While there is great progress and that is really
appreciated in view of a great product at some later time, it makes it
hard to use for now. (So that I decided not to put any "scipy"-effort
into code I write for now.)

If you guys can keep that work up (and it looks like that), just go
ahead and come back with a great product. This is a long way to go,
though, and you should consider whether you want people to be able to
use scipy and get involved into it's development that way? If so, one
way would be to get individual modules "stable" and let them be used
without getting broken by every other scipy change (commit ?).

Btw: I have a separated integrate module independent of scipy. [1] I
am looking to make a standalone linalg2... (Shouldn't be to hard from
what I read from Pearu.)

Greetings,
Jochen

Footnotes:
[1] I stated that it was written by Travis and put in the scipy
LICENSE. Anything else I have to consider to distribute it?
