Yes, by default only tests/test_*.py are looked at when * is a module.
However, if you use either NumpyTest().testall() or
NumpyTest().test(all=True) or NumpyTest.test(level=(some number >10)),
then all the the *.py files in tests/ will be run.

Argubably, this should be the default.
