 I've compared the covariance matrix from the output of
 scipy.optimize.minpack.leastsq to that of another minimizer (not part of
 scipy) to find that the leastsq covariance matrix is "backwards". By this
 I mean cov[i,j] should be cov[-i-1, -j-1].
