 No objection here.  Regarding unit tests, you could make the matrices in
 arith_init() have nonzero integer parts (e.g. 0.125 -> 7.125) so the
 integer types are more thoroughly tested.

 The only potential problem I see is that sparse factorization methods
 (linsolve.spsolve) and iterative solvers (linalg.iterative) might expect
 floats.

 Let me know if you have any questions w.r.t. sparsetools or the SWIG
 wrappers.
