 Exploiting the structure of matrices is important. Some examples are given
 below.
 Symmetric definite eigenvalue problems should be solved by dsygv
 [http://www.netlib.org/lapack/double/dsygv.f]
 instead of the workhorse linalg.eig.
 The solution of symmetric indefinite systems can be done by linalg.lu but
 dsytrf/dsytrs is better.
 Thus it appears, that additional wrappers to these lapack routines would
 be a great enhancement.
