#535: scipy.stats.norm.stats() leaks memory
-------------------------+--------------------------------------------------
 Reporter:  foobaron     |       Owner:  somebody
     Type:  defect       |      Status:  new
 Priority:  normal       |   Milestone:  0.7
Component:  scipy.stats  |     Version:  0.5.2
 Severity: normal | Keywords: memory leak
-------------------------+--------------------------------------------------
 Simply creating a stats.norm object and calling its stats() method
 repeatedly causes memory usage to increase without bound, on both OS X and
 linux 2.6.20-1.2962.fc6xen. See version details below. I don't know
 whether the problem is in scipy or in some dependency in numpy...

 I searched existing reports and didn't see anything matching this
 description.

 {{{

 >>> from scipy import stats
 >>> pdf = stats.norm(1.,1.)
 >>> while True: x = pdf.stats() # RUN THIS AND WATCH MEMORY USAGE

 >>> import scipy
 >>> scipy.__version__
 '0.5.2'
 >>> import numpy
 >>> numpy.__version__
