#1086: scipy.optimize.brute : doesn't not respect ranges ?
-----------------------------+----------------------------------------------
  Reporter:  lboussouf       |       Owner:  somebody
      Type:  defect          |      Status:  reopened
  Priority:  normal          |   Milestone:  0.8.0
 Component:  scipy.optimize  |     Version:  0.7.0
Resolution:                  |    Keywords:  brute range
-----------------------------+----------------------------------------------

Comment(by rgommers):

 As lboussouf said, those don't come from brute but from fmin. The output
 of brute is:
 {{{
 >>> if __name__=="__main__":
 ...        myranges = ((0,1), (0,1))
 ...    scipy.optimize.brute(f, myranges, Ns=2, finish=None)
 ...
 [ 0.  0.]
 [ 0.  0.]
 [ 0.  1.]
 [ 1.  0.]
 [ 1.  1.]
 array([ 0.,  0.])
 }}}
 That said, his suggestion of changing the default finish callable is
 probably a good one.

 Do you have a problem with brute, nshell?
