 net20, many thanks for taking the time to contribute your version of the
 code.  Since scipy.odr covers this case, I'm closing this ticket, but I
 hope you'll be willing to contribute again in the future.

 Josef, is there a discussion in the mailing list somewhere about licensing
 issues, especially as related to NR?  We can't take code directly copied
 from NR, but a new, independent implementation of an algorithm that is
 discussed NR is OK.  The problem is the gray area between these extremes.
