 Yeah, in my view the expected behavior is to use 0.0 rather than
 DBL_EPSILON.  Users who want to trade correctness for performance can
 always zero parts of the kernel.  That said, I don't know how many current
 users this will affect.

 In any case, thanks for looking into this!
