 scipy version 0.11.0b1

 I am attempting to use scipy to write netCDF files on a Windows XP
 machine.  While the file metadata seems correct, the variable values
 appear to be garbage.  Example output from the attached script which
 attempts to write 0,0.1,...,0.9 to a float varaible:

 Created for a test
 metres
 (10,)
 [  0.00000000e+00  -4.29492128e+08  -4.28443584e+08  -6.35268930e-23
   -4.29492160e+08   8.82818033e-44  -6.33201041e-23   4.17232933e-08
   -4.28443616e+08   2.72007600e+23]

 Example output from the test code in the netcdf.py file:

 [        0  16777216  33554432  50331648  67108864  83886080 100663296
 117440512 134217728 150994944]

 Which should be [0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9]
