#1655: Docs for var, std, stderr, samplevar, samplestd have wrong divisor

 Reporter: erg | Owner: somebody
     Type: defect | Status: new
 Priority: normal | Milestone: Unscheduled
Component: Other | Version: 0.7.0

The sample (unbiased) calculation for variance uses 1/(N-1), where N is
the number of samples. The docs are reversed for several of the functions,
though not all. The 'tvar' and 'sem' functions have correct
 documentation.

Incorrectly states N for sample calculations:
 samplevar, samplestd, tsem

Incorrectly states N-1 for full/true calculations:
 var, std, stderr

 http://docs.scipy.org/doc/scipy-0.7.x/reference/stats.html

I realize this is a bug report for a version several minor points old, but
it was first in the Google search and should still be corrected in my
 opinion.

 Thanks!
