Comment:

 Many thanks! This is merged in commit:ed14bf0 and will be included in
 Scipy 0.12.0.

 I have tested this against mpmath (complex plane) and boost (real axis),
 and everything seems accurate to 1e-13 relative tolerance. Going below
 1e-14 for erf seems to require including more terms in the Taylor
 expansion around z=0.
