#1862: Allow canonical keyword arguments for distribution parameters

     Type:  enhancement      |      Status:  new
 Priority:  low              |   Milestone:  Unscheduled
Component:  scipy.stats      |     Version:  0.11.0
 Keywords:                   |
-----------------------------+----------------------------------------------

Comment(by josefpktd):

 We have the shape names defined

 {{{
 >>> stats.binom.shapes
 'n, pr'
 }}}

 Theoretically, it would be possible to change the argument parsing code in
 `_fix_loc_scale`.

 I have no idea what the additional overhead for a single call to a method
 would be. They are already pretty slow.

 That would still leave it open what the "keyword arguments that every
 statistician would be familiar with" are, especially when we don't have a
 standard parameterization.

 R allows for keyword or positional arguments, as far as I know.
