Hi !

Sorry to re-activate this post if it is really a false issue... but I do
have the same error. I restarted all consoles, I even restarted Windows,
but I still have the error when I do from scipy import * :

Can you please give me some details of what you exaclty did... even if
it seems simple...

I use Python 2.5.1 on Windows XP 32bits, Scipy version is 0.6.0 and
Numpy is 1.0.3.1.

Thanks !

The import error did not occur when I restarted my IDE -- which is where I
was working when it occurred.

I apologize for raising this false issue.

Hey Jim,

Could you try installing the exe to see if it is a problem with just
the msi?

OK, I just uninstalled the "msi" version of scipy 0.6.0 and reinstalled
using scipy-0.6.0.win32-py2.5.exe.

The exact same import exception is raised with the "exe" version.

Also, what version of NumPy are you running?

Here are particulars about my system:

 >>> import numpy
 >>> numpy.__version__
'1.0.3.1'
 >>> import sys
 >>> sys.version
'2.5 (r25:51908, Sep 19 2006, 09:52:17) [MSC v.1310 32 bit (Intel)]'
 >>> import scipy
 >>> scipy.__version__
'0.6.0'
 >>>

Don't know if this is important but notice that "import scipy" does not
generate an exception while "from scipy import *" does.

Thanks for your interest.
