[SciPy-user] interp1d out of bounds behaviour

Hello, I'm using interpolate.interp1d. The bounds_error flag gives the
option to either raise an error or use a fill value when an x is out of
bounds. Instead of this I'd like to get y(max(x)) if x_new > max(x) and
y(min(x)) if x_new < min(x). Should I make the clipping myself in my program
or is there an option that I'm missing?
