  Isn't this already the behaviour of numpy ?

In [6]: ones(10)/0
Warning: divide by zero encountered in divide
Out[6]: array([ Inf,  Inf,  Inf,  Inf,  Inf,  Inf,  Inf,  Inf,  Inf,  Inf])
