[IPython-dev] IPython winpdb interface
Tue Mar 25 10:57:36 CDT 2008
Ok I see, perhaps Nir will confirm, but if you manage to make rpdb server
run inside ipython, I think we will be able to launch the GUI and set
breakpoint and do step in/out etc...(this is what you say no?)
And I'm quite sure that it ever exist an API to manage it (if you want to
control it via ipython) because Nir said me a long time ago that PIDA was
using it like this...(if I remember well)...
In which bzr branch do you plan to play with this, mtexp or stable one??

I think it will be handy too (pdb is a bit dated, usagewise). Now it's
up to Nir to create some kind of rpdb2 api we can use.

We will only launch the rpdb2 server and let the user launch winpdb
manually. The idea is to have rpdb2 running inside IPython process
constantly, taking care of all the debugging needs... we can store the
password to _ip.db, so it does not need to be entered every time
IPython is launched.
