[IPython-User] Problem: Custom Tab-Completion through Pyreadline

I'm currently working outside of ipython to keep things simple for my work on the research project. Like I said, the project itself is a cross-platform python application with its own command prompt and such, and I'm trying substitute importing GNU readline, which is available on Unix systems, with something equivalent in Windows in order to get the custom tab completion function working within the application. Thus I don't want to complicate matters for users who want to use the application but don't have access to ipython. Is the completer something that's only configurable through ipython?

I'm still somewhat new to programming, so sorry if my question seems redundant or obvious.

Did you try using the completer customization mechanisms that already exist in ipython?
