It is possible to install everything with only user rights, it's just
a matter of how much work that will take.  zmq is easy, you just need
libuuid (with headers) and libpgm.  That would give you the notebook
and the parallel machinery.  What will be a major pain to do is a user
build of a reasonably recent Qt with user rights, that's probably a
never-ending rabbit hole.

Though check Thomas' suggestion of zmq static, if that works you're
all set (regarding compiled deps, that is).
