 Does anyone know if this issue is still valid? I don't see any compiler
 warnings when building with MSVC these days, but it might be because
 numpy.distutils is hiding them.

 As for MinGW, I think it should definately be compiling with {{{-fno-
 strict-aliasing}}} turned on.
