#1799: Bug in linregress() for masked arrays
 Reporter: bulli92 | Owner: rgommers
     Type: defect | Status: new
 Priority: normal | Milestone: Unscheduled
Component: scipy.stats | Version: 0.11.0

Comment(by rgommers):

It would be great if you would do that. Adding unit tests to compare stats
vs mstats is a good way to go - it ensures that also future changes to
stats get made in mstats too.

There's only one really "dead" part of scipy, which is weave. The reason
for that is that Cython does all that weave does and more. So weave is
only kept for existing code; it also won't be ported to py3k.

Of all other parts of scipy, all of them are maintained - meaning that
bugs will be fixed when found, and patches for improving functionality,
documentation, etc. are reviewed/accepted. Scipy is a relatively mature
and stable project though, so the rate of change on some submodules is
low. That goes for mstats too; there's no-one actively implementing new
features. All it takes is one person with an interest in a module to
 improve that though.

To get an idea of the rate of change of a module, it's best to look at
 commit stats with git.
