#1892: scipy.optimize.brute -- minimum value is mapped to integer without obvious
reason

Reporter: jgehrcke | Owner: somebody
Type: enhancement | Status: needs_info
Priority: normal | Milestone: Unscheduled
Component: scipy.optimize | Version: 0.12.0
Keywords: |

Changes (by rgommers):
* status: new => needs_info
* component: Other => scipy.optimize
Comment:
It's documented as returning int, but I can't reproduce that:
{{{
In [15]: def f(x): return x**2 + 0.9*x - 0.333
In [16]: x0, fval, grid, Jout = optimize.brute(f, ((-3,3),),
full_output=True)
In [17]: x0
Out[17]: array([-0.45])
In [18]: fval
Out[18]: -0.53550000000000009
}}}
This is with current master. Do you get something different? If so, can
you provide a self-contained example.
