Note that 'python setup.py clean' may not be enough, sometimes even 
'python setup.py clean --all'. 'rm -rf build' is the most robust way to 
clean up old build.

When you import scipy, is scipy.linalg.eig defined?

This output does not contain stderr messages. Could you send these too?
