Hi Matthieu,
OpenCv may get you part of the way 
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenCV>. I haven't used it but I notice 
that the Python wrappers are packaged in Ubuntu Linux 
<http://packages.ubuntu.com/gutsy/python/python-opencv>. If they wrap 
everything, they'll give you the Hu moments.
