[SciPy-user] openopt - any examples work?

I don't know what do you mean exactly. Along with link provided by Nils 
you could just take a look at 
http://scipy.org/scipy/scikits/wiki/OOClasses, classify your problem(s) 
mathematically and then choose appropriate solver(s)
