Traits is a fantastic way to build an object-oriented GUI.

Do stay in contact with the list, because many of us have implemented
some of these features on our own. If you release your work under a
free license, I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding contributors.
Enthought has set a stellar example of how to open software whilst
running a business.
